Travel Guidelines and Services
Air or ground travel from your home to the program site is arranged by the family and is not included in the program price. We offer the following guidelines and additional services to help you with your travel arrangements. For UCLA: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
For Yale University: Bradley International Airport (BDL)
For Harvard University: Logan International Airport (BOS)
For Johns Hopkins University: Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI)
airport pick-up/drop off service
Airport Pick-up and Drop Off Service is available for students traveling independently and arriving into the designated airports for a $95.00 round trip fee. Our program staff will meet the students upon arrival and provide supervised transportation via private motor-coach to the program site, and to the airport on the departure day.
In order to take advantage of this service please book your flights in the following windows:
Arrival Flights: Flights should arrive between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM on the first day of the program into the designated airport listed below.
Departure Flights: Flights should depart between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM on the last day of the program from the designated airport listed below.
If you are not able to find flights during the above published times, please contact the program office before finalizing your plans to discuss alternative arrangements as additional fees may apply.
Please note the airport pick-up/drop off service is only available at the designated airports as published above.
UNACCOMPANIED MINOR SERVICE
Unaccompanied Minor (UAM) Service is a fee-based service that is arranged through the airline. Airlines have age requirements that vary by the airline and may mandate that this service is purchased if the child is flying alone. Please contact the airline for details on using this service.
If you do purchase this service, please contact the Program Office to ensure that our staff is prepared to meet your child.
CHECK-IN AND PICK-UP TIMES (if you are dropping off your child)
Check-in time: Summit check-in is from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the first day of the program. Parents dropping students off can take part in the parent orientation. The check-in desk will remain open until all students have arrived, however we ask that you plan to arrive during the window above so that your child does not miss the orientation and activities planned for that afternoon and evening.
Pick-up time: On the departure day, students must be picked up by 9:00 AM.
Driving directions to the summit site will be provided before the summit. Upon arriving on campus, please look for the signs that will direct you to the Ambassador Leadership Summit registration area.
