#FundFriday: Thanksgiving Baskets

With Thanksgiving just a couple of weeks away, here's a festive way to fundraise.

Let your creativity flow! With the holidays just around the corner, capture the spirit of giving this season with gift baskets.

Step One: Gather

So what goes in these baskets? Contact local businesses for donated items or fill baskets with inexpensive items from stores like Target and Dollar Tree, or thrift stores. Look for different themes such as cooking, baking, coffee, tea, relaxation, movies, dining sets, spice collections, decorations, and any others you can think of.

Step Two: Assemble

Now that you’ve collected all of your items for each basket, it’s time to style them! Thrift stores are an excellent place to find inexpensive baskets, or get creative and reuse items you already have at home. Once you have your baskets laid out, arrange the items according to size so it’s easy to see exactly what’s included. Then you can wrap the baskets with clear cellophane and big, cheery holiday bows.

Step Three: Sell!

Reach out to relatives, friends, and neighbors to see if they would like to purchase one of the gift baskets you've made. Price them anywhere from $25-$50 depending on what it cost to create them.

Don't underestimate the power of social media. Share photos of your baskets on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat!

Be sure to tell people why you are doing this (your goal!) and how much their help would mean to you.
