Ambassador Leaders Service

make a difference

Collaborating with your team on a meaningful Community Action Plan and hands-on service projects, you'll learn how to set and accomplish Big Goals in any area of your life - whether making a difference in your community or your personal dreams. During the Summit students earn 20 service-learning hours.

Sample Summit Itinerary

 

DAY 1: WELCOME, AMBASSADOR LEADERS! 

Arrive on campus and check in to the Summit. After saying good-byes, parents can attend an optional brief orientation, while students join their peers for icebreakers.

Enjoy the welcome dinner and opening address, and get to know your teacher leaders and staff who will guide you through the Summit.

Meet your group and get to know your teammates as you review the exciting week ahead.

 

DAY 2: CHALLENGE YOURSELF

Push your limits during a hands-on team building experience at Hale Reservation. Bond with your team as you solve problems and overcome obstacles together.

Learn about the Lead4Change project your team will develop during the Summit and discover the key steps to constructing an effective community action plan.

Master your college application during a college prep workshop taught by Harvard students. Get coaching on preparing for college based on where you are in your academic career – from finding your right-fit college, to writing a winning college essay and setting yourself apart.

Get inspired to make your own path by a leadership expert and motivational speaker Sunjay Nath. You’ll never forget his entertaining and thought-provoking message.

Dive into your team project – start by examining what personal strengths you bring to the team and what you can learn from others.

 

DAY 3: Get in the habit

Learn how to gain control of your life, resist peer pressure, and achieve personal success during an interactive workshop The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens®.

Explore "Hahvahd" and take in its unique history and traditions during an entertaining campus tour led by Harvard students.

Working with your team, advocate for community needs, decide on your Big Goal and create a vision for your Lead4Change project.

Take part in a College Life panel discussion with Harvard students. Hear first-hand what college life is like and gain insights into the college admissions process.

 

DAY 4: Give back

Support the local communities around greater Boston area through a hands-on service project with United Way. Learn how this non-profit helps communities across the United States and around the world, and how you can make your community project go further.

Develop an action plan for your Lead4Change project and learn how to share your vision in a confident and compelling way.

During the Global Youth Panel, learn about CQ – Cultural Intelligence – and examine how you can be more effective in cross-cultural settings.

 

DAY 5: EXPLORE BOSTON 

Take in the sights and sounds of Boston. Retrace the historic steps on the Freedom Trail and Boston’s Little Italy, see the Paul Revere House, the Old North Church, and more!

Visit the JFK Presidential Library and enjoy the beauty of Boston Harbor. Make a stop at another renowned university – MIT, where engineering and technological history is made.

Back on campus, put the finishing touches on your project and polish your presentation – tomorrow is a big day!

 

DAY 6: MAKE A DIFFERENCE

It's your time to shine! As a team, present your Lead4Change project and get feedback. Take the new skills with you to make a difference in your home community.

Celebrate your accomplishments and show your style during a dance cruise in the Boston Harbor.

Reflect on your project and your growth during the final team meeting and the closing presentation, then enjoy a special evening with your friends.

 

DAY 7: lEAD WITH PASSION! 

In the morning, bid farewell to your friends and teacher leaders. Remember to lead through service as you go after your dreams. We are counting on you to do great things!

 

This is a sample itinerary of what students may experience on program. Events, speakers and site visits are subject to confirmation and change. Enrolled students will receive a final itinerary 30 days prior to the program.
